United Airlines 889 Depart San Francisco (SFO) at 11:17 AM
Arrive Beijing (PEK) May 17, 2009 at 2:25 PM (due to crossing the International Dateline)
May 30, 2009:
United Airlines 858 Depart Shanghai (PVG) at 12:35 PM
Arrive SFO May 30, 2009 at 8:18 AM (arrive before you leave!!!)
TENTATIVE AIRFARE: $1500.00 PER PERSON, ROUNDTRIP FROM SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA
Why is the airfare tentative?
The group rate that Explore! TCM Tours has negotiated has a base rate of $960.00. That base rate is locked in and
will not change. However, due to volatility in fuel prices, international and domestic fees, surcharges, taxes, etc.
we can not lock in those fees until we book your flight. At present, those fees total more than $450! We anticipate
that these fees will increase by the time that we book the group.
So, it is difficult to tell exactly how much airfare will cost. After consultation with United Airlines and other
Travel Professionals, we are asking you to submit $1500.00 to pay for your roundtrip fare from San Francisco. This
anticipates a modest increase in fees. If the actual fare is less than $1500.00 (we will know the exact amount
February 9, 2009), Explore! TCM Tours will credit your account with the difference. However, it is possible for the
price of the ticket to be more than $1500.00. In that case, we will notify you immediately concerning the difference.
We apologize for the uncertainty that this causes. Group travel policies for all airlines have changed dramatically.
Those changes require us to be more flexible in our approach to tours and booking airline tickets.
We encourage you to register as soon as possible so we can book the seats in a timely manner.
